Metaphor

I’m seventy now. And once it was ten.

It was then that I read in a popular newspaper that a person develops up to seven years old, and then – only downward, except that bones grow and meat grows on them… And I believed in this for a long time, until finally I didn’t care.

Around the same time, my parents bought the first black-and-white TV with a small screen, and I crawled under the table from Charly Chaplin to laugh with no choke. And so – until finally I didn’t care.
