There is such an interesting topic for me. A group of words and naturally with words – meanings associated with the root “spirit”.
The first in this row is the air. He is here all around us, our common one. And the bosses, and the poor, and Christians and Muslims and pagans, and all skin colors, and the rich and petty criminals, and adults and children, and even reptilians – we are all inside this airy atmosphere on the planet.
And we all breathe it – so I turn to breathe.
And then to the spirit and soul.
“But the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the water.
Genesis 1: 2 “
From the sequence of breathing: inhale-exhale-inhale-exhale, and so on until the expiration of the spirit – can there be an idea of people about time and its sequence?
It looks like a linguistic manifestation of the archetype. Of course yes?
But this is only true in Russian. Already close in time, without delving into the historical roots, in English – these are completely different words.
Air – Air.
Breath – Breath.
Whiff – Whiff.
Soul – Soul.
Spirit is Spirit.
“The earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the water.”
Genesis 1: 2
In the same language, the dog receives a signal in the experiment of Ivan Pavlov, the experience is known to the whole world – after we develop a conditioned reflex in the dog, it answers the call with the release of saliva. However, in this case, the “words” can be different – different bells, different bells, whistles, beeps, melodies. Anything the experimenter wants.
At least electric shocks.
The meaning is the same.
And the meaning is the same for the Russian words “I feel with my belly” and the English words “my gut tells me”.
In Russian “thoughts in the head”, in English – “thoughts in the head”.
In Russian “the real feelings we experience in the heart”, in English “the actual feelings we experience in the heart”.
In many languages, parts of the human body symbolize states that are more mental than somatic, and actually bodily.
And everywhere the same parts of the body correspond to the same states.
It is made conditional reflex. As a matter of fact, Pavlov’s second signaling system is the carrier of human conditioned reflexes, connecting the psyche with physiology and vice versa. And at the same time, it is the result of socialization. Or is it no longer Pavlov, but Vygodsky? Or both?
